A Message from Dan Power
The mission of the Hub Designs MDM Think Tank is: 
  • to engage with vendors who want to conduct briefings on their products, solutions and marketing strategies,
  • to write about those briefings in the form of magazine articles, blog postings, and social media,
  • more broadly, to bring a greater understanding, through analysis, education and collaboration, of how vendor offerings connect with what companies need from master data management and data governance.
It's a "win-win" situation.

The members of the Think Tank get briefed on leading edge MDM technologies, and the vendors get valuable feedback and insights from us, including our advice on market positioning, messaging, product features, and the direction of the market as a whole. The end results are published as analyst briefing write-ups on the Hub Designs Magazine.

Dan Power
Dan Power is the founder and President of Hub Designs, a global consulting firm focused on strategy development, solution delivery and thought leadership for master data management and information governance. 

Dan is the author of more than 30 articles and white papers on MDM and data governance, and is a featured speaker at industry conferences, webinars and vendor events.

Dan has written for Information Management magazine and The Data Warehousing Institute, and is the publisher of Hub Designs Magazine, a widely read blog on MDM and data governance.

He studied Computer Science at Princeton University, and earned a Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurial Studies from Babson College in Wellesley, MA.
Julie Hunt
Julie Hunt is the founder of Julie Hunt Consulting, a software solutions strategy and market intelligence practice. Julie is an accomplished software industry analyst, providing strategic market and competitive insights for vendors and buyers. Julie has the unique perspective of a software industry "hybrid" -- extensive experience in the technology, business, and customer/people-oriented aspects of creating, marketing and selling software.

She has worked in the B2B software industry on the vendor side for more than 20 years in roles from the very technical (developer, SE, solutions consultant) to customer-focused work in strategies for products/solutions, competitive intelligence, and go-to-market initiatives. Her core software technology domains are data integration, data quality, analytics, OSS, SaaS, cloud, WCM/WEM, enterprise portal, social media/marketing, collaboration, and ECM.
James Parnitzke
James Parnitzke is a hands-on technology executive, trusted partner, advisor, software publisher, and widely recognized database management and enterprise architecture thought leader.  Over his career he has served in executive, technical, publisher (commercial software), and practice management roles across a wide range of industries.

Now a sought after technology management advisor and hands-on practitioner, his customers include many of the Fortune 500 as well as emerging businesses where he is known for taking complex challenges and solving them across all levels of the customer’s organization, delivering distinctive value and lasting relationships.
Rob DuMoulin
Rob DuMoulin is the founder and President of Knowledge Based Solutions Inc., a consulting organization that specializes in information management evaluations and solutions. Rob provides thought leadership, architectural design, and hands-on implementation expertise in Data Governance, Database Administration, Master Data Management, Business Intelligence, Enterprise Data Movement, Enterprise Reporting, Enterprise Data Architecture, and data modeling.

Rob works in tandem with business and IT leaders to document current-state information architecture, design end-state goals, then define the gaps and roadmap that meets specific business and cost-benefit goals. 
William McKnight
William McKnight functions as Strategist, Lead Enterprise Information Architect, and Program Manager for complex, high-volume full life-cycle implementations worldwide utilizing the disciplines of data warehousing, master data management, business intelligence, data quality and operational business intelligence.  Many of his clients have gone public with their success story.  

William is a Southwest Entrepreneur of the Year Finalist, a frequent best practices judge, has authored hundreds of articles and white papers and given hundreds of international keynotes and public seminars.  His team’s implementations from both IT and consultant positions have won Best Practices awards. William is a former IT VP of a Fortune company, a former engineer of DB2 at IBM and holds an MBA.  William is author of the book “90 Days to Success in Consulting.”
Gates Ouimette
Gates Ouimette is  currently an IoT Partner Strategy Consultant for PTC, one of the 20th largest software companies in the world and the market leader in IoT (Internet of Things) solutions.  His current role is working with the largest global systems integrators, helping enable their sales, marketing and technical teams on IoT in general and on PTC solutions specifically. 

Prior to joining PTC, Gates launched ITconnecter, a TBM integrator, focused on providing “innovation in IT” consulting services for technology companies and corporate IT. Focused on discovering, defining and providing multi-vertical technology solutions for a business’ operational requirements and strategic direction, ITconnecter uses a “business architecture” viewpoint in advising clients on emerging technology opportunities. 

In addition to extensive IoT and cloud ecosystem experience, Gates Ouimette has started, grown and managed vertical practices for emerging technology consulting and integration firms.  Areas of expertise included network infrastructure web / eCommerce application development and integration, at all 7 layers of ISO's OSI framework. Gates has experience with channels / partnerships, multi-sourcing and infrastructure technologies, from their inception, including: 

·  PCs and PC networks (e.g. 3+Open, Novell, LANManager)
·  LANs/WANs (25 years of Cisco-related and Ethernet experience)
·  the internet (created and delivered banking industry introduction to the Internet in 1997)
·  imaging and workflow systems (Watermark integrator, acquired by Filenet, and then by IBM)
·  SaaS and PaaS, early adopter of Salesforce, 2000
·  eCommerce, internet marketplaces and hubs (leader in CSC’s NetMarkets practice 1998-2000)
·  virtualization and virtual desktop infrastructure practice launch and development (Desktone/VMWare)
·  cloud (public, private, hybrid) for end-users and for channel partners
·  delivering a Technology Business Management (TBM) workshop at the April, 2014 ITFMA conference 

Gates’ corporate experience includes Digital Equipment, Dell, Verizon Business and seven technology startups, four of which were acquired (one by CSC, one by BISYS). He has an MBA from Loyola University ('90) and a BS in MIS from SNHU, and has numerous published articles and podcasts on the intersection of business and technology.  Gates also founded a B2B eCommerce seminar series, defining, orchestrating and then moderating expert panels before selling it to Mass Ecomm (now Mass Software Council).
